DECISIONS DENY BONUS POINT,

Waterpark 9- 14 Newcastle West

I recently read a report on a rugby match which referenced the match official significant influence on a game. Many years ago as a child I watched Disney’s film Bambi and one line which stuck with me from that movie was “ If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all”.

I will choose that option as I write this report.

Waterford is 100 miles from Newcastle West but it takes about two and a half hours to get there, the company was good and the breakfast in Carrick-on-Suir was much appreciated.

It started to mist as we arrived in Waterparks car park and it would not stop for the rest of the day.

There were six yellow cards in the game,3 for the home side and three for the visitors. At one stage in the game Waterpark had twelve players on the field to the visitors fifteen and coming towards the end of the game Newcastle West had twelve players on the field against the home sides fifteen.

Newcastle west under 12s team

🏉, An absolutely brilliant performance by ALL,

The u12s travelled to Charleville, County Cork

last Sunday for a blitz...thankfully the weather had dried up and temperatures increased so it was a great morning for rugby. They split into 2 teams and each played 4 games vs opposition from Garryowen, Charleville, Kanturk, and Clanwilliam.  Some great teamwork from all 26 players led to some huge tackles and great trys. This team are eager to learn in training and apply in matches when they can. Looking forward to our transition to the 15 a side game as we progress through to next season. Our next blitz will be in killeline in February.

U12s train every Sunday 10 till 11:30am.....all new players welcome.

Extra Training is paying its due’s for U13s

Congratulations to the U13s who beat Kanturk on Sunday morning in Kanturk with a scoreline of 24-15

The U13s had a successful trip to Kanturk for an early 10am kick off on Sunday morning. Newcastle West scored four trys in total with two conversions.  Conor O' Dwyer put his soccer skills into action following the ball from an initial kick inside his own 22. Three more kicks along the ground brought him to the try line where he got down for his score. Following that Max McCoy put his pace and size to use again to give us two more trys with probing runs off the scrum. Our final try came from Richard O' Connell who made a convincing 22 metre run following a Gearoid McEnery pass from the back of a ruck. Conversions scored by Jerry Field and Conor O' Dwyer. Final score 24-15.
